Virtual Activism

For all Marylanders

Your emails will amplify the message sent by over two dozen activists who participated in an Advocacy Day on January 8th.

The top message is that “the budget is a moral document". And the MIDC doesn’t reflect those values.

Montgomery County also gives a grant to the MIDC. On our Advocacy Day in Annapolis, we saw the County Executive (Marc Elrich) and told him that we have been trying for four months to meet with him. He said he will not meet with us and that he will not budge on giving them the grant. We also learned that he had regularly been meeting with the JCRC which has made maintaining the MIDC grant as one of their four legislative priorities. This included a sit-down dinner with their CEO and speaking at their legislative breakfast.

The MIDC grant is out of the County Executive’s Office so CE Elrich is the only decisionmaker on this budget issue!T
